Matthew 22: 37-40 (NIV)  37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind.38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

In the news, there are reports of shootings, hate crimes, domestic violence, and war in other countries.  Many have shared that they have the solution to all of these issues.  Theologians have shared that there are four descriptions of love.  The passion love, a friend’s love, parents/ children’s love, and the way God demonstrated love toward humankind.

We need the type of love that God demonstrated, when he sent his only son to die for the sins of humankind. When we have a love relationship with God, we will know how to love our neighbor.   Loving our neighbor involves treating others the way we want to be treated regardless of their: ethnicity, culture, or beliefs. It also involves forgiveness.

What the world needs is love!
