At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18: 1-4).

There are those who spend several years conditioning themselves to meet the qualifications to be considered the greatest. To be considered the greatest in the world’s standards is excelling in a skill above everyone else.

Many feel that they would never be considered great in anything.    Yet in the kingdom the one who wants to be great must be humble.   Those who demonstrate humility stands out above the others because of the character they process in the kingdom.  There are many who can meet the qualification to be the greatest if they are willing to become lowly.
